About the Vendor

Product may arrive frozen. Sold per 250g block. Salted or unsalted

Features:

  • Made in Sturgeon County with Lakeside Dairy's own single-source milk
  • Cultured butter contains a higher butterfat content of 82-85%

Sometimes referred to as “European-style butter,” cultured butter is treated with live cultures and allowed to ferment before it’s churned. This results in butter with a stronger, more lactic flavor. Cultured butter generally has a higher butterfat content (typically 82–85%) than standard American butter (80–82%) which makes it a favourite among professional bakers.

Three Generations of Sustainable Farming, Feeding Our Community

Lakeside Dairy is more than just a farm; it's a legacy. Founded as a traditional dairy and mixed grain farm, it has thrived under the dedication of three generations of the Nonay family. Today, Jeff and Coralee Nonay carry on the torch, expanding the farm while honoring its commitment to the land and community.

Sustainable Practices, Cutting-Edge Technologies:

We go beyond organic at Lakeside Dairy. We're constantly innovating, utilizing robotic milking, improved calf feeding systems, and strategic crop rotation to maintain healthy soil. We compost local dairy and chicken manure, naturally building and fertilizing our fields. It's a closed-loop system where respect for the land goes hand-in-hand with progress.

Quality You Can Trace:

We believe that happy, healthy animals produce the best milk and beef. That's why we meticulously care for each animal, providing them with nutritious food and top-notch husbandry. You can taste the difference in every glass of milk, every bite of meat.

Feeding Our Community, Nourishing Our Future:

For generations, Lakeside Dairy has proudly supplied Albertans with fresh, locally-sourced dairy, cheese, beef, potatoes, and grains. We partner with local restaurants and retail outlets who share our passion for sustainable practices and quality products. Together, we're committed to continuing this tradition, nourishing our community and the land for generations to come.

Lakeside Dairy: Where sustainability meets quality, and tradition meets innovation.
