This natural decaffeination process combines high mountain spring water and Ethyl Acetate (EA) obtained from sugar cane. EA is present in every coffee cherry in its natural state so there are no synthetic chemical substances added and this process is able to be done at origin in Colombia.
This washed-EA process allows for gentle extraction of the caffeine from the bean, avoiding excessive heat or pressure. This maintains the natural structure, terroir, and all characteristics of the coffee bean.
Starts with Soil is a new initiative from Equation Coffee that provides $0.03/lb back to farmers in the form of agricultural support by focusing on:
Crop diversification based on agroforestry designs
Decreasing dependency on external inputs, such as chemical fertilizers
Improving organic matter
Increasing net income
We The Origin is excited to be the first importer in Canada to support the Starts with Soil program and hopes these regenerative agricultural practices will help farmers in Tolima, Colombia to develop more sustainable coffee production
Orders placed on Sundays before noon will be delivered on Tuesdays between 1-7PM
Orders placed on Wednesdays before noon will be delivered on Fridays between 1-7PM
You do not have to be home for your delivery! We can leave it on the front step OR leave a cooler outside and we can instruct our drivers to put your order in the cooler.
You can pick your order up at our warehouse located at #132, 2833 Broadmoor Blvd, Sherwood Park, AB on Monday-Friday between 9AM-5PM. Please wait until you receive a confirmation via email that your order is ready for pick up before coming.
